HANDICAP SYSTEM:
The next stage of the new handicap system has come in, with all players losing handicap. Players please make sure you check you handicap each time you play.
Golf Australia have been holding forums and surveys, over the past few months to discuss the new handicap system. From these they have come to the conclusion that the adoption of the USGA Handicap System in its intirety would not be in the best interest of Australian golf. Golf Australia then went ahead and analysed every competition over the past 3 years from 15 different and diverse clubs across the country, with the aim of finding a satisfactory method. From this Golf Australia have made four proirity amendments to the Handicap System, and they are as follows:
1. Alter "Best 10 of 20" to Best of 8 of 20
2. Change the Bönus for excellence multiplier from 0.96 to 0.93
3 Introduce an anchor which will prevent a player's handicap from increasing any more than 4 strokes beyond their exact handicap from the previous 12 month rolling period.
4. Golf link will cap the score that goes into a players handicap record at no more then the following amount over the course rating. - 50 for women and 40 for men.
These 4 priority amendments will come into effect on Wednesday 21st September 2011.
More detailed information and regular updates are provided on the GA website on www.golfaustralia.org.au

The driving range is up and running and now full after the record amount of rain we have had this month, and it looks fantastic. This is the view from the 6th and 15th tees tee, which goes over the dam.

The driving range is now open and going well. We have floating balls now and a little water in the dam. The cost of the balls is $10 for members and $12 for non members, for around 50 balls. You can use all clubs on the range.
