The dam is compleated and the driving range is now open. We have floating balls now and a little water in the dam. Once the dam is full we will have nearest of pin competitions etc. The cost of the balls is $10 for members and $12 for non members, for around 50 balls.
Adopt a Hole Concept.
THe adopt a hole programme is going very well, and thanks to the help of all the volenteers the course is looking preety good. The rain we had a couple of weeks ago, done the course the world of good, but has stalled some of the costruction at the moment, as some areas are still to wet to get the truck in to get sand across to the 5th tees.
If you don't want to take on a hole, but would still like to volunteer in some way, just let us know as there are always other jobs that need doing on the course.
A Grade Pennant Team
THe team has now been selected.
Phil Davies (captain), Acam Medcalf, Mick Dunn, Jason Grech, Shawn Johansen, Chris Dunn, NEv Dyne, Harvey Maritz, Russell Gardner, Greg WIlson, Ian Dunn, Eddie Ramsamy.
The pennants will be played in Mackay on the 25th and 26th September
Handicapping Changes
Golf Australia have confirmed that the first package of handicapping changes under the new USGA course rating/Slope handicapping system will come into efect at 9am on Friday 9th April.
The first package of changes incorpaorates the calculation of handicap- Commence operation of the USGA's Rolling Sample Method
Because we are on Golflink, we do not need to do anything to instigate the process of recalculating all handicaps, as Golflink will automatically re-calculate handicaps in accordance with the new regulation and will be ready for use at 9am on the 9th of April 2010.
Dear Golfers and Clubs
As you may be aware GOLF Link will be launching the first package of handicap changes at 9:00 AM (AEST) on 9 April. In order to implement the new handicapping rules the GOLF Link Website (www.golflink.com.au) will be taken down from 9:00 AM (AEST) on 7 April and won't be live again until 9:00 AM (AEST) on 9 April. Therefore you will not be able to access the site to check your handicap throughout this period. However, there will still be some content on the GOLF Link site including the Handicap Changes Q&A so please feel free to check it out.
If you have any questions on what the new changes will entail please go to our Handicap Changes Q&A . We have answered our most frequently asked questions and also included an example of how the new handicap will be calculated along with links to more detailed explanations of the new system. We will be updating the page with more of your frequently asked questions so check back regularly.
You can access all the above information on the www.golflink.com.au site. |
